Duo Odéon is delighted to be a part of the Foothills Piano Festival in Anniston, Alabama in October. Many thanks to Dr. Wendy Freeland, Professor of Piano at Jacksonville State University for the opportunity to be part of such an exciting festival! Featuring works by Johannes Brahms, Roy Harris, George Antheil, and Werner Gebauer. Concert will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Anniston in Anniston, AL. Free and open to the public.

Join Duo Odéon and friends for an afternoon of music to celebrate the release of Specter! The duo will be joined by cellist Avery Waite, violist Mai Nguyen, and violinist Jenny Estrin for a potpourri of chamber music. The program includes movements from Brahms and Schumann's epic Piano Quintets, Sarasate's Navarra for two violins, a brand new, never before heard arrangement by Gebauer, and much more!

Duo Odéon: American Romance
Duo Odéon presents a concert of works by celebrated American composers. The concert focuses around two groundbreakers in American classical music: Amy Beach and William Grant Still. Beach found success as the first female composer of large-scale art music in the US, and Still is known as the "Dean of African American Classical Composers" for a litany of firsts and composed over 150 works that found success both in his own lifetime and today. Aaron Copland's elegiac Violin Sonata and two works from the duo's upcoming debut album, Spectre, round out the program.

Duo Odéon: Coffee with Antheil
Duo Odéon presents a casual recital featuring three works rarely performed pieces by George Antheil and the violinist Werner Gebauer. Duo Odéon gave the premiere of the 1947 "Valses" in November and are delighted to perform the unabridged, manuscript score of Antheil's Violin Concerto for the first time. Hannah and Aimee will discuss each piece on the program and open the floor for questions throughout the concert. Come enjoy a cup of coffee and some fabulous music with us!

Duo Odéon performs works by Antheil and Gebauer at the Mirabella in Portland. Short songs by Gershwin, arranged for violin and piano will also be performed. More information TBA.
Duo Odéon: Americana
Duo Odéon's Portland, Oregon concert features the world premiere of the unpublished Valses from "Specter of the Rose," a set of three waltzes based on George Antheil's score from the 1947 film Specter of the Rose arranged by Werner Gebauer, then concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony. The program also features two of Antheil's early sonatas and works by Charles Ives and Roy Harris.

A lecture-recital for undergraduate students at Pacific University focusing on the first three sonatas for violin and piano by George Antheil. The lecture-recital will include a half-hour discussion of Antheil's history and musical style followed by a mini-recital.

Composition Class Takeover
Duo Odéon will visit the afternoon composition class at Willamette University to give a talk on Antheil's theoretical style and technique. They will use examples from Antheil's music from his early style in the US through the pinnacle of his mechanistic period, the Ballet Méchanique.
